"Hope" for a New Beginning

In 2020, Sirius Protection began conducting Animal Control Services for the City of Portage la Prairie. It was quickly noticed a large number of pets get discarded in the City due to injury, possibly due to inability to afford high vet bills? Staff working for Sirius thought it would be a kind hearted idea to give some of these animals a fighting chance at life and pay for some of these bills, vaccinate the animal, spay or neuter it and try to find it a new furever home. Soon after the idea started to become life, "Hope" the cat came into our care with a broken leg. Although it had no name at the start, it soon adopted the name of Hope as its personality grew on all of us. 

Hope for a New Beginning began that day! Hope was adopted out and is still living a healthy life with her new family. 

We are a Non-Profit based out of Portage la Prairie, rescuing animals that are injured, neglected or abandoned. We ensure all animals receive their vaccinations, are spayed or neutered and are cared for until a foster home can be found or permanent adoptees can be discovered. Vet bills are accrued at Hope's volunteers expense and are paid for with donations, adoption fees or our fundraising efforts.  We also assist other rescues with their efforts in keeping Manitoba's pets safe and cared for.
